What Glastonbury rooftops are usually like
The older parts of Glastonbury are built in local lias stone, with a High Street of listed and period buildings where the flat roof work tends to be small, hidden and fiddly. Rear outriggers, shop and cafe extensions, lightwells, and lead-detailed sections behind parapets are all common.
Move out from the centre and the housing changes to twentieth century estates and bungalows, where flat roofs are mostly garages, kitchen extensions and dormers. A lot of these still carry their original felt, which is well past the age where it can be relied on.

The ground here is low-lying. Does that affect a flat roof?
Not the roof directly, but properties on the Levels often deal with damp from more than one direction. If we survey a roof and think what you are seeing inside is coming from somewhere other than the roof, we will say so rather than sell you a roof you do not need.
Can you re-cover a flat roof without stripping it first?
Sometimes, if the existing deck and covering are sound. Often it is a false economy, because it hides problems and adds weight. We will tell you at the survey which of the two your roof is.
